The Sir Douglas Quintet Original rare Album Artwork cover proof

£100.00

A very rare London records / tribe records album cover artwork proof for the Sir Douglas Quintet.

The artwork is from 1967 and has a central production crease but is otherwise intact. The artwork would have been taken from Decca archives and sent to Shoot That Tiger Art Studios in the 1980s fro potential re-release on CD.  measuring approx 25×14 inches

London records mono HAU 8311

Proofs were generally produced in low numbers by the art studios as they awaited approval for the design from the record company and/or artists and so only a handful would normally exist. In the digital age they disappeared and so have become increasingly rare and sought after. Cromalin were even more rare due to the prohibitive cost and so are very sought after, not least because of the superior quality of print.

The proof comes  with a hand signed letter of authenticity from the Shoot that Tiger art studio commissioned to produce the artwork for the record company
shipped flat.
These Museum quality items are now part of the Fame Bureau Art Historic Archive displayed at Pop Nouveau Gallery
Part of that archive is now available to buy.
