PETE TOWNSHEND Guitarist And Principle Songwriter For THE WHO by James Wilkinson
Oil on Board, and mounted by the Artist Framed and Glazed. Painting measures 20 ins ( 508 mm ) by 30 ins ( 762 mm )
The Original painting by Wilkinson of Townshend in typical action stage shot. In typical Wilkinson Style the painting is annotated with splinters from a guitar the Townshend destroyed after filming The Kids are Alright. ( At the end of the filming of the WHO live at Monteray the production crew filming them lost sound as Townshend smashed his guitar and so, after the filming of The Kids are Alright they used the sound of Townshed smashing a guitar and dubbed it onto the Monteray film. The splinters come from that guitar.
With a letter regarding the details of the splinters from the artist.
