George Harrison’s Beatle Jacket from the Ed Sullivan Show

£95,000.00

A once in a lifetime opportunity to own George Harrison's Beatles jacket that he wore on the Ed Sullivan show in 1965 that was broadcast to millions just prior to their historic Shea Stadium concert. The jacket was used again for the subsequent Cow palace concert. An extremely rare and important piece of Beatles history.

The Beatles flew over to the United States for their Summer tour, including making an appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show taped on August 14, 1965. This was a day before their famous Shea Stadium concert. This is George Harrison’s 1965 U.S. tour performance suit jacket made by Douglas Millings and worn by George during the tour that ended on August 31st in San Francisco, where they performed two shows at the Cow Palace. This is where the jacket was obtained.

D. A. Millings and Son, who made The Beatles’ suits during the Beatle years, would put each Beatles’ respective name on the inside of the tag. Example, “George Beatle” is printed inside of this 1965 performance jacket. The jacket is photo and video identified. In 2016 the jacket was carefully examined (fabric, style for 1965, and both Millings tags) by Howard Kramer, former Curatorial Director at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and Museum from the establishments beginning and verified the jacket’s authenticity.

Included with the Jacket is the provenance from the individual who acquired the jacket directly from The Cow Palace as well as a hand signed letter of authentication from the Fame Bureau.

Price On Request. Offers in excess of £90,000 will be considered.
