Description
An artist’s proof of George Harrison’s Arrest documents for possession of cannabis In March 1969.
D.S. Pilcher was the arresting officer. He was infamous for his penchant for arresting rock stars. Pilcher was sacked for perverting the course of justice in the 1970s. He was notorious for his over vigorous attempts to take celebrities into custody.
The original arrest document was destroyed. This was the normal procedure in New Scotland Yard. The fingerprint officer, however, was astute enough to make a copy to keep. The copy was found after the officer’s death, by his daughter and sold at auction.
The prints that are included here are from a scan of the original photocopy. These prints are numbered with a letter of authenticity from Pop Nouveau Gallery. They are mounted with a photograph of George and John enjoying a smoke.
The framed display measures approx 22×28 inches.
