An original signed Giclee print of the painting Silver Eagle a portrait of Clancy Lyall used for his Autobiography
Clarence Odell “Clancy” Lyall (October 14, 1925 – March 19, 2012) served with Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army during World War II. This unit would be popularized in the mini-series Band of Brothers based on the book by the same name.
Clancy later served in the 82nd Airborne Division in post-war Germany and in 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team – The Rakkasans – in the Korean War. He also served in Indochina.
Lyall only ever signed 13 of these prints before his death in 2012. His estate retains the first two prints. The original painting was used for the book cover Silver Eagle by Ronald Ooms and Clancy Lyall.
